The Steel Founders' Society of America (SFSA) used the image below as the cover of the proceedings of the 58th Technical & Operating Conference held in Chicago in November 2004. The image shows a hot tear prediction for a steel casting that was obtained using a new model developed by the UI Solidification Laboratory and implemented within the software MAGMASOFT.
