Tired of looking silly giving your presentations in front of the bathroom mirror?
Need some good tips to improve your speaking skills?

Help is on the way.
CTC's new Presentation Workshop Series
offers Iowa engineering students a relaxed environment
and professional advice for individual or team practice sessions.

Why should I sign up?

By presenting at the Presentation Workshop you get valuable feedback from experienced speakers on your presentation technique. We can give you a fresh perspective on your topic and suggest ways to--

      • Improve your delivery
      • Clarify your purpose and organize your material
      • Improve the effectiveness of your PowerPoint slides
      • Connect with your audience

Am I signing my life away?

You might think so, but you’re actually getting a 20-30 minute session
to make your presentation and get helpful feedback on your work from the director of the CTC, a writing professor, and an engineering student.

Where do I go to present?

For the Spring 2006 semester, we will begin offering appointments starting in late February. Stay tuned for the exact dates and times.

How do I sign up?

All you have to do is sign up for one of the slots listed on the sheet in front of 2224 SC. (Make sure you’re signing up on the Presentation Appointment Sheet and not the Peer Consultant Sheet!)

What do I bring to my practice session?

If your PowerPoint file is on the network, nothing. If it isn't on the network, then bring a CD or a memory key with your .ppt file on it. We'll supply you with an evaluation sheet and tips for a successful presentation.

All engineering students are invited to come and sharpen their presentation skills for any class or activity. We look forward to seeing you there!
