Peer Advisors

The Peer Advisor program is a resource developed by students, for students. They offer advice on their respective majors, course combinations, course loads, and share their personal journeys to a career in engineering. Additionally, they provide support to their peers through workshops and outreach.

Come to the Student Development Center, 3124 Seamans Center, for assistance with your questions about majors, general education courses, or policies and procedures. The Peer Advisors work closely with the professional academic advising staff.

Peer Advisor Office Hours - Fall 2016

Peer Advisor Workshops

In both the spring and fall semester, the Peer Advisors offer workshops to assist students in preparation for their academic advising appointments with their advisor.

EFA Workshops provide guidance to any students interested in learning more about filling out EFAs. This workshop is particularly helpful for sophomores and juniors. Each major has its own specifications and requirements which the Peer Advisor will go over in detail. Bring your questions, the Peer Advisors are ready to answer them. (Times and locations TBD)

Engineering Experiences: I recently worked at Cook Medical during the fall semester in the Engineering Reproductive Health Department. While at Cook Medical, I learned valuable professional development, wrote technical reports, and tested in-vitro fertilization catheters in order to determine the root cause of possible contamination. Interests: I love Hawkeye Sports! I don't miss any Hawkeye home football or basketball games, and I traveled to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Championship football game last season (I cried during the 4th quarter). I also enjoy playing basketball and actually played at Carver Hawkeye Arena my freshman year when my team won the Women's Basketball Intramural Championship. When I'm not doing homework or at a student org meeting, I usually relax and watch Friends.
