About Explore Engineering@Iowa Days

The Explore Engineering @ Iowa program provides an opportunity for future students of the College of Engineering to learn more about what makes our College an exceptional educational choice. Throughout the day, we hope to give you insight on why Iowa's engineering program is a great option for bright students like you. You'll have the opportunity to meet current students, faculty members, and other prospective students looking to join our "team".

10:00 - 10:55 a.m. Check-in and Optional Activities:
  • Optional 30-minute campus tour (at 10:05, 10:25)
  • Optional 20-minute tour of the Seamans Center for the Engineering Arts & Sciences (at 10:05, 10:10, 10:20, 10:30, 10:40)
  • Mingle with other prospective students and the Engineering Student Ambassadors
  • Check-in closer to 11 a.m.
11:00 - 11:30 a.m. General University Info and Introduction to Engineering
11:30 - 11:50 a.m. Presentation on Careers in Engineering
11:50 - 12:20 p.m. Engineering Student Panel
12:20 - 1:20 p.m. Lunch:
  • In Burge Hall with Engineering Student Ambassadors (Complimentary lunch for student, reduced lunch price for guest $5.50-- cash only, and please have exact change)
  • Or lunch on your own downtown Iowa City
1:30 - 3:45 p.m. Engineering Faculty Research Presentations/Tours
4:00 - 4:30 p.m. Break-Out Sessions (students with ambassadors, parents with Jane Dorman)
4:30 - 4:45 p.m. Wrap-up and Door Prizes
