Annual Kurtz Lecture

Professor Bruce Dale, professor of chemical engineering and materials science, Michigan State University, will speak on "Fuels from Cellulosic Biomass: Energy Security, Environmental Improvement & Rural Economic Opportunities."
The annual Kurtz Lecture is named for the late Edwin B. Kurtz, professor and head of the UI Electrical Engineering Department between 1929 and 1960. He was the architect of the world's first educational television station and directed the operation of the experimental station W9xk in Iowa City during the 1930s.
