Brian McWhorter joined Coskata in 2010. He brings 10 years of experience in plant operations and process controls in specialty chemicals and biofuels industries. From 1999 to 2006 Brian served as plant engineer and assistant plant manager at Henkel Specialty Chemicals. Management responsibilities included EHS, capital budget and project management, process improvement efforts and plant cost accounting. The capstone of Brian’s efforts at Henkel was the integration of a new product line into an existing plant where he successfully invested $1.1 MM to capture a $2.5 MM operating improvement in a single year. From 2006 to 2010 Brian specialized in instrumentation and process controls project management. Brian has been involved in a wide array of Distributed Control System (DCS) projects ranging in size from 150 IO to 4,000 IO. He has led DCS projects in all project phases from design to plant optimization. Brian was recently awarded ISA’s Certification as an Automation Professional and a Professional Engineering License as a Control System Engineer. He regularly represents organizations at Industry Forums and Technical Conferences in the field of Instrumentation and Distributed Controls.
