Dr. Debra Ely
Dr. Debra Ely received her doctoral degree from the University of Iowa Biomedical Engineering Department in December 2008. Her research focus was microvolt t-wave alternans as a predictor of ventricular arrhythmias while working in the laboratory of Dr. James Martins. While at the University of Iowa, Dr. Ely was the recipient of GAANN and Graduate Diversity Fellowships.
After graduation Dr. Ely became a postdoctoral associate at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. There she worked under Drs. Mohan Raizada and Michael Katovich investigating the cardioprotective effect of angiotensin converting enzyme-2-angiotensin (1-7)-mas axis.
Dr. Ely is currently an instructor at Pima Medical Institute, Houston, TX, helping to train high-quality medical personnel for the healthcare industry.
