Grid for scale

scale and grid in versalaser

Several objects printed on the 3D printers in the Engineering Machine Shop have been featured in EMS This Week. Often the photographer forgot to pose the object next to a ruler or some thing to give the viewer an idea of the size of the object. John Kostman used CorelDRAW to design a 10" by 10" grid and a 10" right angle ruler that he printed using the VersaLaser (since replaced with a Universal Laser System). He finished by making acrylic stands for the grid and scale, also in the VersaLaser.

The Hawkeye colors of the grid and scale offer high-contrast as well as school spirit.

The photo gallery shows the scale and grid from its start in the VersaLaser, to their use with the brain gear, and with the acrylic stands.
