What is Engineering Student Services
The Engineering Student Services group includes the Student Development Center, Engineering Professional Development, Undergraduate Engineering Admissions, and the Hanson Center for Technical Communications. The Student Development Center is located in the north wing of the Seamans Center for the Engineering Arts and Sciences (3124 SC) and is home to general engineering advising, the engineering honors program, engineering student organizations, K-12 outreach, the undergraduate scholarship program, engineering tutoring, and undergraduate transcripts and records. The SDC is the first place to go for any questions regarding engineering education at The University of Iowa.
Engineering Professional Development is located on the east wing of the Seamans Center (3307 SC) and houses the career services group, engineering admissions, first year experience, and the student ambassadors. The EPD provides career support service including career fairs, employer information, and advice about job searches, interviews, internships, co-ops, study abroad, and other pre-professional experiences. Engineering admissions and the student ambassadors introduce prospective students to current students, engineering faculty, and give tours of the College of Engineering facilitities.
The Hanson Center for Technical Communications is located in the center of the Seamans Center, within the Engineering Student Commons (2224 SC) and is home to our writing tutors and professional writing advisors. The Hanson Center provides support to engineering courses and to individual engineering students.
