I am responsible for recruiting academically talented engineering students and guiding them through their first-year in engineering. I review files and decide who gets admitted into the College of Engineering, meet with individual students, groups of prospective students and their parents, host Explore Engineering @ Iowa programs, assist in the development of publications, and respond to e-mails and phone calls. I also supervise a team of student ambassadors, work with the People in Engineering (PIE) learning community, teach a College Transition class and the Engineering Success Seminar for all first-year engineering students.
I am originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin and definitely a Packer fan! I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a double major in business and psychology and then from Northern Illinois University with a masters degree in counseling. I have lived in Iowa City since 1993. I have three children: Katrina, a social worker in the Chicago suburbs; Patrick who lives and works in West Des Moines; and Ryan, a senior in high school. We also have a Maltese poodle puppy named Coby.
