I work with middle and high school administrators, counselors, teachers, students, and parents, along with representatives from Iowa State University, the Department of Education, and all 15 community colleges in respect to Project Lead The Way (PLTW). PLTW’s comprehensive curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, innovation, and real-world problem solving. The hands-on, project-based program engages students on multiple levels, exposes them to subjects that they typically would not pursue, provides them with a strong foundation for achieving their academic goals in any chosen field of study and, if pursued, establishes a proven path to college and career success in STEM related industries.
I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and attended Wayne State College. There I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Before coming to The University of Iowa, I was a stay-at-home mom for my 3 children and 2 cats.
