The College of Engineering at The University of Iowa has taken on a holistic approach to: 1) improving ethnic inclusion among our engineering graduates and, 2) providing a model for other institutions interested in eliminating the disparity in ethnicity in engineering. The Ethnic Inclusion Effort for Iowa Engineering is one step in higher education that aims to address these problems.

Student: Maritza Muñiz - Maisonet I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. here at UI. Iowa has already offered me a life time worth of experiences to help me grow. My research project is aimed at characterizing glucagon (protein used to treat hypoglycemic patients) aggregation with laser scattering techniques. The Ethnic Inclusion Effort for Iowa Engineering program has offered me the opportunity to interact with professors from around the world. |
