The Mary Sheedy Staff Excellence Award (Nomination Form)

Objective of the Award

The Mary Sheedy Staff Excellence Award is given annually to recognize one member of the College of Engineering staff who exemplifies the characteristics of Mary Sheedy, long time secretary for the Dean of the College of Engineering.

Eligibility and Criteria

  1. All permanent full-time and part-time (50% or more) Professional & Scientific and Merit staff members employed in the College of Engineering are eligible to be nominated for this award.
  2. The criteria by which applicants are evaluated include:
    1. provides outstanding service to the College of Engineering.
    2. has a positive attitude that impacts and improves the work atmosphere within the College.
    3. leaves a lasting impression with the College and its constituents.
    4. demonstrates a commitment to the College and its mission.
  3. Any College of Engineering faculty, staff, or student can nominate a staff member. Nominators should complete the nomination form, write a nomination letter, and include a second letter of support from a faculty, staff or student in the College of Engineering. The deadline for submission is Monday, March 17, 2008.  Nominations that are incomplete or received after the deadline will not be considered.

Nomination and Selection Process

  • Nominations for this award are conducted annually.  Nominations must be received no later than Monday, March 17, 2008.  The recipient will be announced at the Spring recognition luncheon.
  • Send all nomination materials in a sealed envelope to the Staff Recognition Award Committee, c/o Ryan Baumert, Dean’s Office, 3100 Seamans Center.
  • Nominees will be evaluated with respect to the award criteria by members of the selection committee chosen by the Dean of the College of Engineering.
  • The winner of this award will be honored and presented with a certificate and an award.
  • Questions concerning the Staff Recognition Award or the process may be directed to the Dean of the College of Engineering.
