Seamans Center for the Engineering Arts and Sciences on Capitol Street, Iowa City

 

There are a variety of parking options for this visit day, including University Lot 3 (by the Main Library) for $0.60 per hour; Old Capitol Town Center Parking Garage for $0.75 per hour; Iowa Memorial Union Parking Garage or North Campus Parking Garage, both on Madison Street, for $0.90 per hour, or University Lot 11 (by the Iowa City Courthouse) for free, if gates are open that day (we are unable to know in advance).

10:00-10:55 a.m. Check-in and Optional Activities:
  • 30-minute campus tour (at 10:05, 10:25)
  • 15-minute tour of the Seamans Center for the Engineering Arts and Sciences (at 10:05, 10:10, 10:20, 10:30, 10:40)
  • Mingle with other future students and the Engineering Student Ambassadors
  • Hang out in the Seamans Center
  • Check-in closer to 11:00 a.m.
11:00-11:30 a.m. General University Information and Introduction to Engineering
11:30-11:50 a.m. Presentation on Careers in Engineering
11:50 a.m.-12:20 p.m. Engineering Student Panel
12:20-1:20 p.m. Lunch:
  • In Burge Hall with Engineering Student Ambassadors (complimentary lunch for student, reduced lunch price for guests $5.50 -- cash only, please have exact change)
  • Or lunch on your own in downtown Iowa City
1:30-3:45 p.m. Engineering Faculty Reseach Presentations and Tours
4:00-4:30 p.m. Break-Out Sessions (students with ambassadors, parents with Jane Dorman)
4:30-4:45 p.m. Wrap-up and Door Prizes
