Joseph W. J. Robinson

A native of Tampa, FL, Joe Robinson graduated with a BSME degree in 1977 from the University of Iowa.  He graduated fifth in his class and was a four-year letterman in Track and Field for the Hawkeyes.

His mother, Thelma,  brother Shane, and sister Lawanna all attended the university at the same time from Florida.

After college, Robinson returned to Tampa, became a licensed Professional Engineer, and started his own mechanical/electrical/plumbing/fire protection consulting firm in 1990.  He currently is president and CEO, remaining active in management and business development, project development, and overall construction management, as well as technical support on company projects.

Robinson has been involved in numerous city-level, county-level, state-level, and national-level civic, government, church, political and University of Iowa organizations and efforts.  In 2012, he helped organize the GOP convention in Tampa.

He has been a member of the Tampa Bay IOWA Club for many years, and is a long-time volunteer for the University of Iowa Alumni Association's Alumni Seeking IOWA Students (ASIST) program, which helps qualified students realize the benefits of becoming a Hawkeye.
