ME:5195 Contemporary Topics in Mechanical Engineering – Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT)” Fall 2020

The course will be offered under the temporary number, ME:5195 in the Fall 2020 semester. The Fall 2020 offering is eligible for FA credit as:

  • An Autonomy elective (i.e. “Required Course” elective) in the Robotics and Autonomous Systems FA
  • General elective in the Design FA
  • Manufacturing elective (i.e. “Required Course” elective) in the Manufacturing FA

As per the tailored FA policy, it is also eligible for credit toward completion of the tailored FA.

Follow these instructions to specify the Fall 2020 offering of ME:5195 as an FA course on the FA plan of study form:

  • To specify ME:5195 as a required-course elective in the Manufacturing, or Robotics & Autonomous Systems FA, first select your other required-course elective(s). In the final required-course elective field, duplicate your selection of one of the previously-chosen electives. Then, in the comments field at the bottom of the form, enter, “ME:5195: Industrial Internet of Things is a Required-Course elective.”
  • To specify ME:5195 as a general elective in the Design FA, select “Other” in one of the General Elective fields, then enter, “ME:5195 Industrial Internet of Things.” In the comments field at the bottom of the form, enter, “ME:5195: Industrial Internet of Things is a General Elective.” This will ensure that ME:5195 does not displace any Flexible Elective included in your plan of study.
  • To specify ME:5195 as an elective in a Tailored FA, simply enter, “ME:5195 Industrial Internet of Things” in one of the FA course fields.
