Alumnus Liechty Receives U. of Texas Outstanding Grad Student Award

University of Iowa Engineering alumnus William Liechty (BS 2007 chemical engineering), a graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin, has received that school's Michael H. Granof Outstanding Graduate Student Award.

Liechty will earn a PhD in chemical engineeting from UT-Austin on Saturday, May 19.

The Granof Outstanding Graduate Student Award was established in 2008 to recognize a graduate student of exceptional distinction. The award includes a $10,000 prize, which is presented at the Graduate School/University Co-op Awards Banquet in the spring.  Criteria for selection include scholastic achievement at the highest level, creative contributions beyond degree or departmental requirements, commitment to diversity, and exceptional service to UT Austin.
