Brennan Ayres, graduate student in mechanical and industrial engineering, presented a poster and conducted a lecture at the 2015

Healthcare Systems Process Improvement Conference February 18-20, 2015, in Orlando, FL.

His lecture was titled "Labor and Delivery Operating Room Traffic: Perceptions and Reality."

The human factors study explores healthcare personnel perceptions and suggests methods to improve patient safety by preventing or reducing door openings in the labor and delivery operating room.

The study was co-authored by fellow students Salvador Rojas Murillo, Farzaneh Dolati, and Loreen Herwaldt, and mentored by Priyadarshini Pennathur, assistant professor of mechanical and industrial engineering.
