The Department of Biomedical Engineering and Engineering Professional Development will host a Biomedical Engineering@Iowa Industry Conference February 22-23 at the Seamans Center for the Engineering Arts and Sciences, Iowa City.

Representatives from 11 employers will meet with students and learn about the Biomedical Engineering program at Iowa.  The companies include Athena GTX; Bio::Neos, Inc.; Boston Scientific; Cerner; CIVCO Medical Solutions; DuPont Pioneer; Medical Murray; MicroVention; Nanomedtrix; Siemens Healthcare; and VIDA Diagnostics, Inc.

The program includes presentations on areas of research in the department, a networking event, lab tours, employer information sessions, a poster session, and panel discussions.

The goal of the conference is to develop stronger ties with industry partners and expose students to the array of career options as a biomedical engineer.  There will be targeted interactions with students and faculty.  Company representatives will also will learn more about the program, hear about growth in enrollment and be briefed on the Seamans Center Annex expansion, and see first-hand the possibilities that exist collaborating on senior design projects and other areas.
