Carmichael Appointed to NASA Advisory Board Earth Science Subcommittee

Greg Carmichael, Karl Kammermeyer Professor of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, associate dean for graduate programs and research, co-director of the Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research, and inaugural director of the UI informatics initiative, has been appointed as a member of the NASA Advisory Board Earth Science Subcommittee.

The subcommittee is one of five reporting to the NASA Advisory Board.  It provides counsel to develop a scientific understanding of the Earth system and its response to natural and human-induced changes to enable improved prediction of climate, weather, and natural hazards for present and future generations.
