It is now available at:

http://www.pageturnpro.com/University-of-Iowa-College-of-Engineering/70647-Iowa-Engineer,-2016-No-1/index.html

The issue features:

  • First Tech Challenge. Read how the University of Iowa with the guidance of affiliate partner Rebecca Whitaker, corporate partner Rockwell Collins, and the Iowa governor’s STEM initiative, has grown the FTC program from two teams in 2009 to over 200 teams in 2015 introducing thousands of kids in grades 7-12 to career opportunities in the STEM fields and “Gracious Professionalism(R).”
  • Alumnus Robert Campbell (BSE 1986 in electrical engineering), theater planner with Fisher Dachs Associates, and project manager for the new Voxman Music Building scheduled to open in fall 2017.
  • The Virginia A. Myers Nexus of Engineering and Art, overseen by director Deanne Wortman, is providing opportunities for “artineers” to discover the close ties between the arts and engineering.  The program provides a wealth of opportunities and interdisciplinary studies between engineering and the fine arts.
  • The remembrance of two Distinguished Engineering Alumni – John Craven, a pioneer in oceanic systems, and Thomas Daniels, a key player in the US Army’s Office for Space and Strategic Systems.

The magazine also has traditional favorite features, such as College News, Class Notes, and In Memoriam.

Iowa Engineer magazine is devoted to informing Engineering alumni and friends on what fellow graduates are doing, sharing how students are learning to become "engineers...and something more," and illustrating how faculty create breakthroughs in research and teaching excellence.
