Ed Dove, associate professor of biomedical engineering, has been elected vice president of the University of Iowa Faculty Senate.

Dove, who recently completed service as Biomedical Engineering's interim departmental executive officer, joins other UI faculty leaders elected to key posts.  David Drake, professor of microbiology in the College of Dentistry, was elected president of the Senate.  Katherine Tachau, professor of history, will become Faculty Senate secretary.

The Faculty Senate, composed of eighty-one representatives of all academic units of the University, serves as the principal channel of communication between rank and file faculty members and the central administration of the University.
