University of Iowa News Release
The National Advanced Driving Simulator (NADS), a research and teaching unit of the University of Iowa College of Engineering, is seeking licensed drivers ages 25 to 45 who currently wear soft spherical contact lenses for a study examining the effectiveness of two different contact lenses on nighttime driving performance.
Participant recruitment will continue until enrollment is met. A primary research thread at the NADS, this is the third vision-related clinical trial to be conducted at NADS in the past two years.
Ninety licensed drivers who meet the eligibility criteria will be recruited to participate in the study, which involves four visits, two at UI Hospitals and Clinics and two at the National Advanced Driving Simulator in Coralville.
The four visits will require a total of approximately nine to 10 hours to complete. Participants will be paid for their time and effort. Drivers who currently wear soft spherical contact lenses and who would like to participate in this or future studies can learn more by visiting http://www.drivingstudies.com or by calling the NADS hotline at 319-335-4719.
