i-FAB 2010 Best Podium Presentation Award won by Don Anderson and co-authors

A research presentation given by faculty member Don Anderson last month at the 2nd Congress of the International Foot and Ankle Biomechanics Community (http://www.i-fab2010.org/) was judged as the Best Podium Presentation. Dr. Anderson is a Research Associate Professor of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation, and of Biomedical Engineering. His presentation was entitled “Equivalence of elastic contact and finite element models of patient-specific contact stress exposure in the human ankle,” co-authored by Andrew Kern (BSE 2008 in Biomedical Engineering) and Thomas D. Brown. Mr. Kern is a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, as well as an MS candidate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Brown is the Richard and Janice Johnston Chair of Orthopaedic Biomechanics, and a Professor of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation, and of Biomedical Engineering. The award consists of an engraved plaque and a check. The research was funded by the NIH/NIAMS (P50 AR055533).
