Iowa Environmental Focus on the Radio: Iowa-A Watershed Leader

Monday, November 1, 2010

The latest Iowa Environmental Focus on the Radio program segment discusses the rare position of the Iowa-Cedar River basin as one of just five watersheds in the country admitted to the UNESCO HELP program, where experts are meeting to solve water-related problems.  The project is led by UI professor Marian Muste.

The Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research (CGRER) is partnering with Iowa radio stations to air a new radio segment called Iowa Environmental Focus. Each week, we will distribute 1-2 minute clips with relevant information and interesting facts about Iowa’s environment.

Narrated by Jerry Schnoor, CGRER's co-founder and co-director, the segments cover weather trends, air and water quality, sustainable energy, and more -- all with an Iowa focus.
