Iowa Project Lead the Way Holds State Conference
Iowa Project Lead the Way (PLTW) will host the largest ever gathering of Project Lead the Way and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math leaders in the state of Iowa on November 12. The event will be held at The Meadows Events & Conference Center, Altoona, IA.
The day-long conference will cover the substantial progress made in Iowa to advance STEM programs for K-12 students.
Project Lead the Way is a national program that forms partnerships among schools and the private sector to increase the quality and number of engineers. The University of Iowa and Iowa State University are area co-affiliate universities for the Project Lead The Way program (http://www.pltwiowa.org/).
Included among those presenting at the conference will be Dr. Vince Bertram, President and CEO of PLTW; Dennis Dio Parker, Assistant Manager, Toyota North America; George R. Boggs, President and CEO Emeritus, American Association of Community Colleges; and Jeff Weld, Executive Director, Governor's STEM Advisory Council.
Stakeholders from all segments of the STEM community will be in attendance, including teachers, counselors, administrators, industry leaders, community college presidents, chief administrative officers, and Project Lead the Way coordinators.
