Thursday, November 7, 2013

Julie Jessop, associate professor of chemical and biochemical engineering and researcher at the NSF I/UCRC Photopolymerization Center, is featured in the latest UI TILE (Transform, Interact, Learn, Engage) Newsletter.

The story is available at http://tile.uiowa.edu/news/meet-dr-julie-jessop.

Jessop is teaching in the university's TILE classrooms and is encouraging other faculty to do the same.  Jessop has been working closely with the Center for Teaching and ITS-Instructional Services to develop training and a support network for STEM faculty interested in bringing innovation into their classrooms.

TILE classroom usage in the College of Engineering also was the topic of a recent Iowa Engineer magazine feature, aimed at College of Engineering alumni and friends. The article illustrated novel teaching techniques used by Sarah Vigmostad, assistant professor of biomedical engineering and assistant faculty research engineer at IIHR--Hydroscience & Engineering, and Mona Garvin, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering.  To read the feature, go to http://www.pageturnpro.com/University-of-Iowa-College-of-Engineering/52138-Iowa-Engineer,-2013-No-2/index.html#8.
