Pennathur Receives International Ergonomics Association Liberty Mutual Medal

Priyadarshini Pennathur, assistant professor of mechanical and industrial engineering, has received the Liberty Mutal Medal in Occupational Safety and Ergonomics from the International Ergonomics Association (IEA).  She will receive a $10,000 award for her research in health care.

Her paper was titled "Technologies in the wild (TiW): human factors implications for patient safety in the cardiovascular operating room."

IEA and Liberty Mutual seek to reduce or mitigate work-related injuries through the advancement of theory and understanding, innovation and development of new directions or approaches.
