Public Invited to Attend Seminar on Water and Electricity March 10

The relationship between water and electric power generation is the subject of a seminar to be delivered by Dave Dzombak, Blenko Professor Of Environmental Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa., from 4:30 to 5:20 p.m. Thursday, March 10, in Room W290 of the Chemistry Building on the UI Campus.
Sponsored by the College of Engineering Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the talk is free and open to the public.
Formally titled "The Need and Challenge of Alternative Sources of Water for Use in Electric Power Production," the seminar will provide an overview of the water-energy challenge facing the United States and examine the need for and challenges of using alternatives to freshwater for power plant cooling.
