Schnoor, Leddy to Address Iowa City Chamber Jan. 23

Two University of Iowa researchers will address the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce in a public program, "Climate Change & Battery Technologies," from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at Hills Bank and Trust, 1401 S. Gilbert St., in Iowa City.

Jerald Schnoor, Allen S. Henry Chair in Engineering, professor of civil and environmental engineering, co-director of the Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research and chair of Gov. Chet Culver's Iowa Climate Change Advisory Council, will discuss how to reduce energy usage and create more renewable energy. Johna Leddy, associate professor in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Department of Chemistry, will give an overview of her work on electrochemical power sources.
