The Tau Beta Pi Fellowship board announced the selection of 261 scholars for senior-year study in the 2015-2016 academic year.  Scholarships of $1,000 or $2,000 are given to members on the competitive basis of scholarship, campus leadership and service and promise of contributions to the engineering profession, with consideration given to economic need and academic commitment.

Those Tau Beta Pi scholars from the University of Iowa are:

	Molly Berringer Molly is a biomedical engineering senior at the University of Iowa from Glenwood, IA. She is involved in academic organizations and participates in intramural sports. She interned with Medtronic developing and testing prototypes of a medical device to extract pulmonary embolisms. She will pursue a master’s degree and a career in the medical device industry.
	Daniel Davies Daniel, who is from Cedar Rapids, IA, is a chemical engineering major at the University of Iowa. He had done research with nanowires for use in photovaltaic cells and fuel cell catalysts at Brookhaven National Lab. He is a teaching  assistant, volunteers for an education outreach program, and participates in ballroom dance. Future plans include graduate classes.
	Douglas A. Lindner Douglas, who is from Marion, IA, is an electrical & computer engineering major at the University of Iowa, with minors in mathematics and computer science. He supports STEM and FIRST programs to help inspire k-12 students. He has worked on commercial jet programs at Rockwell Collins and will pursue a master’s in embedded systems.
	Alexis N. Miller Alexis, who is from Dubuque, IA, is pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Iowa. She is IA B Chapter vice president, secretary of Omicron Delta Kappa, and committee president of Hillel. She volunteers at the UI Hospitals & Clinics, and mentors at-risk elementary students. She is a research assistant and will pursue a MD/Ph.D.
	Kazra Zarei Kasra is a biomedical engineering major at the University of Iowa focusing on medical image analysis and bioinformatics.  He will pursue a Ph.D., conduct research, and collaborate in ophthalmology and neurology.  His research interests include treatment and noninvasive diagnosis of eye diseases and neurological disorders.
