UI Graduate Is Youngest to Endow Engineering Scholarship

University of Iowa College of Engineering graduate Amanda E. Mikhail has made a $50,000 gift commitment through the University of Iowa Foundation to endow the Amanda and Michael Mikhail Engineering Scholarship.
Mikhail, who received her B.S.E. degree in mechanical engineering in 1999, is the youngest alumnus to fund an endowed scholarship in the college.
Now a manager at IBM in Rochester, MN, with 19 patents to her name, Mikhail completed an M.B.A. degree at the University of Minnesota in Rochester and oversees a department of 17 mechanical analysis and thermal engineers who are responsible for IBM’s mid-range server product set. In addition to being a member of the UI Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Advisory Board, Mikhail also belongs to the University of Iowa Presidents Club, which recognizes the university’s most generous contributors.
