UI Student Engineers Receive National Award For Fifth Consecutive Year

The University of Iowa College of Engineering student chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) has received the Gold Award for the fifth consecutive year.

The award is given for excellence in outreach, strategic planning, and participation and was coordinated through the leadership of the IIE student chapter officers: Casey Arends of Belmond, Iowa; Drew Arnold of Willowbrook, Ill.; Katie Lehmann of Peosta, Iowa; and Beth Westlake of Mount Prospect, Ill. The faculty advisor is Linda Ng Boyle, assistant professor in the UI College of Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.

IIE is the world's largest professional society dedicated solely to the support of the industrial engineering profession and individuals involved with improving quality and productivity.
