Wang Earns First Place in Iowa EPSCoR Poster Competition
Yeqing Wang, a second year PhD student in mechanical engineering, took first place in the Iowa NSF EPSCoR Student Poster Competition.
Wang's poster subject was "Lightning Strike Damage Modeling in Composite Wind Turbine Blades."
The award was announced at Iowa EPSCoR’s Annual All-Hands Meeting July 22-23, 2013 at the University of Northern Iowa.
Iowa’s Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) is aimed at building research capacity and increasing competitiveness for the State of Iowa through investments in infrastructure and human capital.
EPSCoR provides support for key research areas at Iowa’s Regents Institutions, while establishing partnerships with the state’s community colleges, private colleges, school districts, government agencies and industries. The ultimate goal is to stimulate lasting research infrastructure improvements for the State of Iowa.
