Weber, Krajewski Featured in Research Commentary

Larry Weber, professor of civil and environmental engineering and director of IIHR--Hydroscience & Engineering, and Witold Krajewski, Rose & Joseph Summers Professor of Water Resources Engineering, professor of civil and environmental engineering, and faculty research engineer at IIHR, were highlighted in a commentary published in the September 1-7, 2008, Corridor Business Journal.  Weber and Krajewski were singled out for their initiative to arrange for the National Science Foundation National Center for Airborne Laser Mapping to map the elevation of floodwaters along the Iowa River in conjunction with recent major flooding in the area.  Jordan Cohen, interim vice president for research, and Ann Ricketts, director of research development in the Office of the Vice President for Research, provided the commentary on how The University of Iowa provides an important role in translating basic and applied research into economic and social benefits for Iowans.
