College of Engineering Scholarships (2010-2011)
The College of Engineering annually awards scholarships to engineering students based on academic achievement.
If a scholarship description indicates the award is to first-year students, this means undergraduates entering the University directly from high school.
First Year Student Scholarships
Engineering Excellence Scholarship
- 100 awards
- For engineering majors who have a 3.70 GPA (on a 4.00 scale) OR an ACT composite score of 28 (a combined SAT critical reading and math score of 1250) or above
- The Engineering Excellence Scholarship application must be submitted online by the end of the day on January 31, 2010.
- Value: $1,500 (one-time award for first-year students only)

Engineering Opportunities Scholarship
- 50 awards
- For engineering majors who are underrepresented in the field of engineering (i.e., women and students who are African American, Hispanic/Latino(a), Native American, Alaskan native, Native Hawaiian, or other Pacific Islander).
- OR for engineering majors who have unmet financial need, as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid
- The Engineering Opportunities Scholarship application must be submitted by the end of the day on January 31, 2010.
- Value: $2,000(one-time award for first-year students only)

Transfer Student Scholarships
Engineering Transfer Scholarship
- For any transfer student admitted to Engineering@Iowa for summer or fall 2010 with at least 12 semester hours earned toward the engineering degree, and a GPA on courses toward engineering degree of 3.25 or higher
- Value: $1,000(15 awards). One-time award
- Deadline: The Engineering Transfer Scholarship online application must be submitted by the end of the day on March 31, 2010.
General Scholarship for Non-First Year Students
Undergraduate students who are enrolled in the College of Engineering are invited to submit a General Scholarship Application that will enable the College of Engineering to consider you for the scholarships listed below. These engineering scholarships are restricted to students who are enrolled full-time (12+ semester hours) in the College of Engineering for Fall 2009 Semester and have completed at least one year of engineering studies. Competition will be fierce because the limited funds are available. Please follow the link below to read descriptions of the scholarships offered and to complete an application form. All materials for the general scholarships are due to 3124 SC by April 30th, 2009. Failure to provide requested information may make you ineligible for some scholarships.
