IDOCS Project

The IDOCS (Intelligent Distributed Ontology Consensus System) is a generalized, intelligent-agent based software application that is being developed to assist collaborating clinicians define and classify new disease subtypes.

The IDOCS project is specifically targeting age-related macular degeneration(AMD), the most common cause of blindness. IDOCS seeks to address the technical and social issues inherent in attempts to reach consensus on personalized, experiential diagnostic knowledge.

IDOCS (and C-DOCS) guides users through a coordinated three-step process
1. Ontology Creation and Learning
2. Similarity Identification
3. Ontology Agreement and Consensus
