- June 07 - NOAA Global Monitoring Division crew was in Iowa doing a full install of CO2 and CO monitoring equipment on the 5th U.S. "tall tower". This will be WBI (West Branch Iowa) in the NOAA sampling network. Newspaper article here.

- April 07. Elliott Campbell passed his thesis defense, and committee member Stephanie Vay (NASA Langley) gave a CGRER seminar. Campbell is now a postdoctoral research position with Christopher Field (Biological Sciences) and Rosamond Naylor (Woods Institute for the Environment) to study biogeochemical and economic constraints on biofuels production at Stanford.

- March 2007: Chemical and Biochemical Engineering departmental seminars given by Kazeem Olanrewaju and Alicia Kalafut (Mar 8). Elliott Campbell giving the Civil and Environmental Engineering Seminar (Mar 9).

- February 2007: Aerosol researcher Tami Bond from the University of Illinois, gave CBE Departmental Seminar.

- February 2007: Michael Ott of BIOWA gave a guest lecture in Green Chemical Engineering on Iowa's Bioeconomy.

2006

- December 2006: Elliott and Charlie at AGU with posters on CO2 and Milagro.

- October 2006: Elliott passed Ph.D. proposal

- October 2006: Dr. Stanier becomes member representative to UCAR from Univ. of Iowa. UIowa press release.

- September 2006: Dr. Stanier wins AAAR Friedlander award. UIowa press release.

- August 2006. Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Institute at the University of Iowa launched to try to foster collaboration on nano research and proposals. Visit our website here.

- June 06: Elliott Campbell wins a NASA Earth Systems Science fellowship. More information can be found here and here (campus newspaper).

- May 2006: Juan Navea, Baylor University, accepts a post-doctoral position for a joint project on volatile methyl siloxanes with the Grassian and Young groups. The project involves a laboratory and modeling study of the atmospheric chemistry and atmospheric fate of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4) and for decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5). 

- April 2006: Alicia recently returned from Mexico City where she took part in the MILAGRO field campaign.
