Major: Industrial Engineering
Track: Computer and Information Systems
Hometown: Bluffton, OH

Engineering Experience:  Over the summer I started working for a company in Coralville teaching coding and robotics day camps for kids. I actually spent my first two years as an elementary education major and so it's been a fun way to be able to use some of that knowledge in conjunction with the things that I've learned since switching to IE.

Involvement: I've been a part of Lutheran Campus Ministry here at Iowa for the last 4 years and joined our new exec team this semester! It's a close-knit group that I really enjoy being a part of.

Fun Facts: I love to bake! I once accidentally made almost 100 cookies because I was bored and left alone in my apartment. That's when I learned that there is, in fact, such a thing as too many cookies. I will read just about anything and I'm always looking for book recommendations. My friends and I have the best game nights and I've been told that I'm "weirdly competitive" when it comes to Uno.

Graduating Class: 2022

Hi, I'm Abby and this is my first year at the HCTC. I spend most of my time volunteering for the Iowa Democratic Party -- when I'm not studying, of course. Don't worry, I'm not interested in arguing about politics. I also really enjoy reading books, especially memoirs, but I promise I'm not boring. Another thing, I'm a shrimp mom! To cope with missing my dogs at home, I have 12+ ghost shrimp. Stop in if you want to review your writing, or if you want to hear what my shrimp are up to these days.
