Campus Visit Opportunities
- Daily Campus Visits take place weekdays. Visit options include a campus tour, Iowa information session, residence hall tour, etc. and an engineering academic info session with Jane Dorman, Director of Engineering Admissions and First-Year Experience, followed by a student ambassador-led engineering tour.
- Explore Engineering@Iowa Programs will be held on select Saturdays during the 2016-17 academic year and will focus on engineering. See specific dates below.
- Various Visit Days take place between October and April and feature a variety of activities. The College of Engineering has academic info sessions and engineering building tours as part of these programs.
Weekday Engineering Visits and Tours
As part of your campus visit, you can attend an academic info session with Jane Dorman, Director of Admissions and First-Year Experience for the College of Engineering and engineering student ambassadors; this will help you learn more about the academics, the culture, and the opportunities in Engineering@Iowa. As part of this visit, a student ambassador will lead you on a tour of the Seamans Center for the Engineering Arts & Sciences where you will see some of our renowned teaching and research areas, including classrooms, computer labs, and research facilities. You will also stop at the Engineering Tutorial Center, the Hanson Center for Technical Communications, the Lichtenberger Engineering Library, John Deere Plaza, Pierce Atrium, Fethke Rooftop Terrace, and the engineering student commons. You will also see the progress that is being made on the 65,000 square foot engineering addition that will open in Fall 2017.
When making a reservation through the Office of Admissions, be sure to select the College of Engineering session .
