University of Iowa’s Track and Field Club

University of Iowa’s Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Club

Have you had any international experience? If so, where did you go, for how long, and what did you do?

I spent two weeks abroad when I was a junior in high school for my British Literature class. We visited England, France, Ireland and Wales and did a lot of sightseeing of famous landmarks and toured popular cities.

How are you an "engineer ... and something more"?

I am an engineering student ambassador as well as an athlete who enjoys a multitude of athletic activities, such as track and field, ultimate frisbee, rock climbing, and soccer

Is there something else you'd like to tell us about yourself?

I am an out-of-state student and I found transitioning from one state to Iowa’s school of engineering to be very welcoming.

What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?

University of Iowa is a large enough school that it allows you to have a lot of opportunities, but at the same time, it is small enough that you get to know a lot of people and feel a part of the community. Also, the professors at Iowa are very welcoming and love to have students at their office hours.

Who is your favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor was Er Wei Bai. He makes the lab portion of the Engineering Problem Solving 1 class super fun and interesting. We had projects that could include all of the different types of engineering so it allowed the students to get an idea of what is involved with the engineering majors while still having fun.

What has been your favorite course?

My favorite courses have been Principles of Chemistry 1 and 2.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time at The University of Iowa?

I’m usually pretty busy, but when I do have free time, I enjoy visiting with friends, going out to movies, and finding new places to eat around town.
