Have you done research with a professor? If so, what department was the professor in and what was your research about?
Yes, I currently do research at the Carver College of Medicine in the Neuroscience Department. We are currently working on helping patients with dystonia.

I am an out-of-state student and I found transitioning from one state to Iowa’s school of engineering to be very welcoming.
What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?
University of Iowa is a large enough school that it allows you to have a lot of opportunities, but at the same time, it is small enough that you get to know a lot of people and feel a part of the community. Also, the professors at Iowa are very welcoming and love to have students at their office hours.
Who is your favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor was Er Wei Bai. He is a professor for one of the labs for the Introductory to Engineering Problem Solving an makes the class super fun and interesting. We had projects that could include all of the different types of engineering so it allowed the students to get an idea of what is involved with the engineering majors while still having fun.
What has been your favorite course?
My favorite courses have been Principles of Chemistry 1 and 2 and Engineering Math 4: Differential Equations.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time at The University of Iowa?
I’m usually pretty busy, but when I do have free time, I enjoy visiting with friends, going out to movies, and finding new places to eat around town.
