What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?

Do not be afraid to explore your interests in college! The endless opportunities to be involved on campus is one of the best things about being at the University of Iowa.

What organizations outside the college of engineering do you belong to?

Greek Life, Iowa Edge Peer Leader

How are you an "engineer ... and something more"?

I am involved in Greek Life, I hold an exec position in AIChE (the American Institute of Chemical Engineers) and on SWE (Society of Women Engineers), and I am an Iowa Edge Peer Leader!

Is there something else you'd like to tell us about yourself?

I am the first Hawkeye in my family! I decided Iowa was for me after attending an Explore Engineering Day with Jane about 4 years ago.

What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?

There are so many amazing opportunities being at the University of Iowa. I am encouraged to pursue my interests and there are so many ways to get involved on campus and throughout the community.

Who is your favorite professor and why?

I have really enjoyed my classes with Dr. David Murhammer. They are both classes that challenge me, but are classes that I have learned a lot in and they are applicable to other courses I am taking. He is also funny in class!

What has been your favorite course?

My favorite course was probably Heat & Flow. That was when I decided I really liked Chemical Engineering.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time at The University of Iowa?

I explore restaurants with my friends- we try eating at different locations downtown. I also love watching scary movies and playing volleyball.
