What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?

Do not be embarrassed to go to tutoring or office hours. This will help you get better grades overall and create an amazing habit.

What organizations outside the college of engineering do you belong to?

I am a volunteer and on the Student Leader Board for the UIHC volunteering program, a dancer in Dance Marathon, and a leader for the OnIowa! program.

How are you an "engineer ... and something more"?

I am an engineering and something more through the UIHC volunteering program by creating the best experience possible for other volunteers in my units!

Have you done research with a professor? If so, what department was the professor in and what was your research about?

I have done research under Dr. Ted Abel in the Neuroscience institute about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the roles of various genes and proteins involved with this.

Is there something else you'd like to tell us about yourself?

I’ve gone to a dinner party that had flamingos walking around us.

What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?

I love being a student at the University of Iowa because of the family atmosphere it provides.

Who is your favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor would have to be Seth Dillard. He is a very relatable person on all levels including school and anything that might be going on in your personal life. His teaching skills are hilariously awesome because of how interactive he is with his classes.

What has been your favorite course?

My favorite class so far has been Biomaterials and Biomechanics, specifically the Cardiovascular Biomechanics portion of the class which is taught by Seth Dillard.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time at The University of Iowa?

What I enjoy doing in my free time at the University of Iowa is working out. I need workouts to create headspace from class and help me think clearer.
