What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?

My biggest advice would be to talk to your professors early on and go to office hours. Building this relationship will help you later in the course when everyone is trying to figure things out and ask questions.

Have you had any international experience? If so, where did you go, for how long, and what did you do?

This past summer I studied abroad in northern Italy. I went for the first four weeks of summer and took my Statics course as well as a gen ed. We went to class Monday through Thursday and traveled Friday through Saturday. I was able to visit Milan, Venice, Verona, Rome, and Vatican City.

How are you an "engineer ... and something more"?

I am an engineer and something more by staying involved at the University with Dance Marathon and my hall associations.

Is there something else you'd like to tell us about yourself?

One of my biggest hobbies is playing music whether it be on an instrument or over the loudspeakers.

What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?

My favorite thing about being a student at the University of Iowa is being part of a thriving and welcoming community.

Who is your favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor was Shea Brown because he got me extremely interested in physics and helped me to discover new possibilities in my field of study.

What has been your favorite course?

My favorite course so far is a course that I am currently enrolled in: Computers in Engineering.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time at The University of Iowa?

I enjoy playing frisbee with friends, playing music, or walking downtown.
