What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?:

Get involved right away! It’s the best way to meet new people who share similar interests.

What organizations outside the college of engineering do you belong to?

I am an OnIowa leader. I'm involved with Cru, a Christian organization and a STAR member.

How are you an "engineer ... and something more"?

I am studying abroad in Costa Rica to finish my sustainability certificate. I have also participated and won the Iowa Start Up Games which is run by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center.

Have you done research with a professor? If so, what department was the professor in and what was your research about?

Yes. I am a research assistant with Dr. Michelle Scherer with a focus in Environmental Geochemistry.

What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?

The amount of opportunities the university provides me with in every aspect.

Who is your favorite professor and why?

Rich Fosse! He provides the most helpful information and insight to what jobs will look like in the field.

What has been your favorite course?

Planning Livable Cities

What do you enjoy doing in your free time at The University of Iowa?

I love doing yoga and exploring the many restaurants around campus, because who doesn't love food!
