What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?
Learn how to manage your time - studying is important, but so is making time for fun.
What organizations outside the college of engineering do you belong to?

Hawkeye Sparkles, Alpha Phi, Intramurals
How are you an "engineer ... and something more"?

Although engineering is a big part of my life, I make sure I have time to do what I love. I recently completed my first triathlon and plan to do many more!
Is there something else you'd like to tell us about yourself?

I am the third in my family to attend the University of Iowa for industrial engineering.
What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?

My favorite thing about the University of Iowa is our campus. It feels close-knit and homey yet there’s a huge amount of students that attend. Being right downtown also offers fun art and music festivals, events, and really good food.
Who is your favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor is Geb Thomas. He is very laid-back but is a wonderful teacher.
What has been your favorite course?

My favorite course was Design for Manufacturing. It was a very hands-on class with many different aspects including Creo and machining. This class related most to my co-op at Rockwell Collins.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time at The University of Iowa?

In my free time I enjoy exploring Iowa City and surrounding areas - there are a lot of neat parks and trails around here. I also enjoy cycling, hanging out with my friends, trying new restaurants, and taking naps.
