Engineering alumna Lilia A. Abron (PhD 1972 chemical engineering) has been named a Tau Beta Pi Distinguished Alumnus for 2017.

Abron, founder and CEO of PEER Consultants, PC, an environmental consulting firm headquartered in Washington DC., is a member of the College of Engineering’s Distinguished Engineering Alumni Academy (https://www.engineering.uiowa.edu/alumni/awards/honor-wall/lilia-abron).

The award recognizes alumni who have demonstrated outstanding adherence to the ideals of Tau Beta Pi and fostering a spirit of liberal culture in society on the local, national, and international scales.  Tau Beta Pi noted that Abron’s achievements “exemplify the diverse contributions that engineers make to society, and they demonstrate (her) breadth of interest, unselfish activity, and true spirit of integrity and excellence in engineering.”

Abron will be honored October 12-14, 2017, at the 2017 Tau Beta Pi Convention in Dearborn, MI.
