The Operator Performance Laboratory (OPL), a unit of the UI Center for Computer-Aided Design, is part of the cover story in Aviation Week (January 16, 2017).

OPL was one of two aircraft participants in the US campaign of the NATO/NIAG Degraded Visual Environment Mitigation (DVE-M). The OPL system laid the groundwork for installation in a Swiss Air Force EC-635 which flew in Manching, Germany and Alpnach, Switzerland as part of the European campaign.
