The NEXUS of Engineering and the Arts is exhibiting the artwork of artist Gabby Kershaw, third-year chemical engineering student.

Two of her artworks are on display in the display cases on the first floor atrium in the Seamans Center for the Engineering Arts and Sciences throughout the summer.

"Gab’s World" is a multi-media work including drawing, a collage from some Engineering class notes, etc., and hot stamped foiling. The images are a collage of her experiences here as an Engineering student as well as biographical images of her.

"My Ancestors’ Wildest Dreams" is a digital arts piece envisioning her thoughts and musings on her family’s genealogy. Kershaw has been involved in NEXUS and Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) activities since she arrived from Philadelphia as a freshman.

The Virginia A. Myers NEXUS of Engineering and the Arts was established in 2015 as a cross disciplinary program designed to provide opportunities for and encourage Engineering students to participate in arts activities on the UI campus broadening their perspectives and becoming even better engineers.
